One of the top ways to stay fit or lose weight is to exercise consistently and count calories.

You should really be exercising in some way almost every day. By having a home treadmill, you can easily jump on for 20 minutes while watching your favorite show, or exercise at any time of day! It will never be easier for you to lose weight or stay fit than to add one of these to your home. To help you decide what you need, we’ll go over the best home treadmills.

How do you choose what treadmill is for you?

Well, there are many different ideas you could consider.

1) Size: Where do you want to put your treadmill in your house and how much space is there? You will definitely want to measure the area you hope to put your treadmill as to know what size you’ll need! The last thing you want is to order a beautiful new machine, and have no possible way to fit it into your house! Be smart, be proactive, and measure your living spaces before you order!

2) Folding Frame: There is no doubt that most treadmills are fairly big! But, you can avoid taking up a large amount of space permanently by choosing a treadmill with a folding frame! A folding frame treadmill does exactly what it sounds like it does, it will fold up and you can put it up against a wall and save space! This is convenient and you’ll only have your machine in the way when you’re using it!

3) Price: How much money can you afford to spend? Treadmills can vary in price. You could find a treadmill for $200 or over $1,000. Of course, you’ll get a lot more out of the treadmill that costs $1,000 instead of $200, but you have to stay within your price range. It’s better to have a cheaper treadmill than no treadmill at all. But, if you can afford to spend a little more, you’ll get many benefits from purchasing a high quality machine.

It all depends on your current financial situation. It’s important to consider how much money you’re willing to spend and go from there!

4) Machine Weight: It is important to choose a treadmill that is fairly heavy. If you purchase a treadmill that is very light, can you imagine what will happen when you run on it? You could possible break it depending on your size, or, you could be in for a very bump and uneven cardio session. If your treadmill weighs more, it will be more steady and smooth in general! So don’t forget to check the weight of your treadmill!

5) Running Belt Size: For safety reasons, you will not want to buy a treadmill with a small belt size. It’s important to make sure your choice in machine has a wide and long belt size for your own safety and stability. If the belt size is too small, you could easily fall off the machine or be thrown from it. By being proactive we can avoid this!

6) Safety Clip: Furthermore, for your own safety, make sure that your treadmill comes with a safety clip. This is simply the clip that goes on your shirt or clothes that will stop the machine if it is pulled. You want to have this feature because it will help avoid injury if you ever fall or cannot keep up with your machines pace!

7) Heart Rate Monitor: You will have to decide if you want a heart rate monitor on your machine. Heart monitors can be used to track your workout and help you get into key fat burning heart rate zones. This is important for some people, but very unimportant to others. Not everyone will use this feature.

8) Incline Belt: Another feature you’ll be able to choose to include, is an incline belt. An incline belt, simply lifts up your machine so you are walking or running at a steeper incline. This can be beneficial in a variety of ways! You will surely work your legs more, burn more calories, and have a more intense workout.

9) Programmed Workouts: With how advanced technology is becoming, some treadmills have access to training modules or programs right on their screen! If you’re often unsure if what you’re doing is working, this might be for you because it will give you clear directives as how to workout. Some programs you will have to pay a membership to and you’ll need internet access, however, some will free programs built into your machine.

I don’t know anything about the brand, but that desk station is very tempting. I inherited a massive antique walnut desk a few years ago and gave up my standing desk. I really miss it. I just felt better at the end of a long day. The idea of being able to walk while catching up on my emails and other things is very enticing.
